VICTORIAN DÉCOR CAN BE MODERN TOO

September 13th, 2012 by Susan Jecminek

Victorian décor can be very ornate and fancy but, it can be sleek with contemporary lines as well.  Designs have been so eclectic though the years that adding just a few pieces or paint can make a major difference.  There is an abundance of furniture styles, hardware, light fixtures, bath and kitchen designs that lend itself to the Victorian style with just a few choice pieces without being ornate.  I found a wonderful source I’d like to share, HOUZZ, which is full of wonderful ideas.  Also, if you are a pinterest fan, check out Julie Donnell-Oliver get some great ideas going and  Enjoy!!

Try 3-D Decoupage!

February 7th, 2012 by Susan Jecminek

Try your hand at 3-D Decoupage.  I have always worked with collages and mixed media with multitudes of textures and always looked for new processes.  Five years ago I got curious after catching ‘The Paper Tole Supply Center’ website.  Deciding to try my hand at it, ordered several kits and loved it.  Now I choose my subject matter and incorporate 3-Dimensional Decoupage in a lot of my collages.  Giving kits as gifts, many of my relatives have been enjoying this craft for years now.  The variety of prints ‘The Paper Tole Supply Center’ offers is vast and carries kits and prints for the beginner to the novice.  It is a great source for all 3-D Decoupage/Paper Tole supplies.  Whether you are an avid stamper or have a love of paper and cloth crafts, you’ll love trying 3-Dimensional Decoupage!  Have fun!!
